Last September, 75 journalists from AJI (Asosiasi Jurnalis Independen) Indonesia gathered together at CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation to join the hybrid online event called “Trusted Media Summit 2022” held in Singapore. This annual event was organized by the Google News Initiative as a multi-stakeholder collaboration space to network and discuss best practices in journalism, fact-checking, verification, media literacy, and research. The Trusted Media Summit is an opportunity to expand networks, update information, get ideas and initiatives to build a more credible media and information ecosystem.

The Alliance of Independent Journalists or AJI is a professional journalist organization, founded by young Indonesian journalists.

The journalists who joined the event were welcomed by CTC’s facilitator and given a house tour around the center. During the tour, the team introduced our integrated learning facilities that are dedicated to coral reef and ocean protection. We also introduced our existing exhibit, the Grand Blue Project and Weaving the Ocean, at our exhibition hall during the tour. At the end of the event, the journalists gathered together in the courtyard while enjoying dinner accompanied by live music.

During the event, CTC Executive Director, Rili Djohani, met with Febrina Galuh P, the Executive Director at The Alliance of Independent Journalists, and Jason Tedjasukmana,  Head of Communications, Google Indonesia and CTC Board Member.
